I haven't got all the packs, but I have 8 different coffee pots in my game and only one tea maker which came with the base game!
What does coffee give you? Well there is energised I guess, so your sims can never sit still without running out of the door, lying on the floor and doing some other generally antisocial stuff.
Now tea. Tea can make you focused, happy, relaxed and more! Much, much superior to coffee. Do you all drink coffee there at EA. No tea drinkers at all?
More tea makers please :)
Okay, but those emotions don't do anything particularly worthwhile, beyond minor skill boosts and reskinned interaction names.
If they're gonna add new moodlets, they really need to make the emotions more useful, first, IMO.
Whoosh?
Coffee provides one moodlet
Tea can provide six moodlets
Therefore tea is more powerful in game in terms of choice of buffs.
Whether moodlets are adding worthwhile gameplay is a matter of opinion and not relevant to the topic.
Okay, so what do those moodlets do?
What is so valuable about your Sim becoming Inspired, really? Oh, they can paint a little faster, but who cares about a base game skill? I haven't touched painting in about 5 years because it's been absolutely done to death.
It used to be that the different moods would be useful for career performance in different careers, but nowadays any positive mood is all it takes, and you're not exactly gonna run out of sources for positive emotions--they're EVERYWHERE.
So what's so good about tea making your Sim emotional? Emotions are not worthwhile, and frankly they weren't even that interesting in the base game, except for the emotional deaths, which have been nerfed to hell and back.
So yeah, Maxis COULD add a new teapot to the game, but why would I use it?
