Please give tea some love

I haven't got all the packs, but I have 8 different coffee pots in my game and only one tea maker which came with the base game!

What does coffee give you? Well there is energised I guess, so your sims can never sit still without running out of the door, lying on the floor and doing some other generally antisocial stuff.

Now tea. Tea can make you focused, happy, relaxed and more! Much, much superior to coffee. Do you all drink coffee there at EA. No tea drinkers at all?

More tea makers please :)

Unlike bookcases, all of these tea sets would have to be animated first in order to make them functional. That's why I think it won't gonna happen. I still think they could and should add another functional teapot in the future. I mean, they also added more teas. But seeing that we didn't even get a way to make cocoa when they added it as a drink in Seasons, EA don't seem to care much for homemade drinks.

I understand that, but they could at least give us some more of those drinks like the lemonade tray. For the Moroccan kit they could have added such interaction and let our sims to drink some peppermint tea or orange flower water from the tray they provided. There is also an antique coffee set in game that sims could also use to drink coffee or tea if they provide interactions for it.

I don't think they add any gameplay features with kits as long as they aren't gameplay kits. I'm afraid new drink recipes also count towards gameplay. Also the antique coffee and tea set would need new animations, like I said. Adding some bookcase tuning to an object is really easy to do, you don't need to touch the mesh, leave alone animations.

Okay, but those emotions don't do anything particularly worthwhile, beyond minor skill boosts and reskinned interaction names.

If they're gonna add new moodlets, they really need to make the emotions more useful, first, IMO.

    Whoosh?

    Coffee provides one moodlet

    Tea can provide six moodlets

Therefore tea is more powerful in game in terms of choice of buffs.

Whether moodlets are adding worthwhile gameplay is a matter of opinion and not relevant to the topic.

Okay, so what do those moodlets do?
What is so valuable about your Sim becoming Inspired, really? Oh, they can paint a little faster, but who cares about a base game skill? I haven't touched painting in about 5 years because it's been absolutely done to death.

It used to be that the different moods would be useful for career performance in different careers, but nowadays any positive mood is all it takes, and you're not exactly gonna run out of sources for positive emotions--they're EVERYWHERE.

So what's so good about tea making your Sim emotional? Emotions are not worthwhile, and frankly they weren't even that interesting in the base game, except for the emotional deaths, which have been nerfed to ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and back.

So yeah, Maxis COULD add a new teapot to the game, but why would I use it?

Good grief. Read my original post. I was asking for more teapots, not more moods or stronger moods, Just more pots that work the same as the one and only pot we have. I have only one tea pot design to pick from in my build/buy but there are 8 coffee pots.

To be clear, I am requesting tea pots that look different

The one and only tea pot provides a choice of possible moods, whereas the coffee pot only provides one.

Now there is a great thread in General Discussion about how the moods system is broken. Maybe I should go and ask about my teapots there?

  • I was surprised that they didn't add teapots with Snowy Escape. I was hoping for not only stovetop kettles, but different flavors of tea. I don't care so much about emotional buffs, but the tea itself. Tea is just as popular as coffee where I am, with probably more boba tea shops (which also sell hot tea) than coffee shops.
