Please give the Teens unique voice actors

The teens are a joke in this game. I know everybody goes on about the babies, but the teens are absolutely awful. The only thing that makes them even remotely playable is Parenthood.

If they refuse to shorten the teens then so be it. There are other ways to make teens stand out from adults besides height. Give them actual acne instead of just an option in cas. Add the school buses back, prom, learning how to drive, parents getting a chance of vacation, running away, open up the schools more, add sneaking out etc.

But one of the biggest things that could improve them in my opinion are unique voice actors. I can't imagine this would even take much work. I'm not saying voice acting isn't hard work, but there is little coding involved, just hire two unique voice actors per gender, I'd even be happy with one voice per gender like with children.

In sims 2 Teens had a unique voice actor different from other life stages. In sims 3 they had the same voice actor, but it wasn't as big of an issue because you could actually tell teens apart from adults in that game.

The game has no distinction between adult and teenagers for voices, it does admittedly pitch them up slightly, but it's not noticeable. With singing it's ESPECIALLY bad, it doesn't matter which voice you have for singing or the pitch, every voice sounds the same, which makes it horrible for teens. Here's a video I took of a teenage sim singing. This is awful. This is not how most teenage boys sound.

With women it's less noticeable, but teenage boys sound scratchy as they're going through puberty. Their voices crack. There is a reason that in most cartoons/anime that younger boys are usually voiced by women, and it's because they do not sound like grown men. I am tired of the treatment teens are getting. In the beginning we were told that teens being the same height would mean they would get more unique fleshed out content, this was a lie. The only pack to ever really improve on them was parenthood. Please, I beg of the devs, change the teens. Do the right thing.

(keep in mind I use a shorter teens mod, so my teens actually look like teens.)

  • These are those small things that really make your game play. I went back to Sims 3 and I smile/light up a bit when there is one of those small touches that aren't in Sims 4. Actually playing Sims 3 is a reminder of how soulless Sims 4 is. It improved on things like graphics and CAS but the family play is nothing compared to Sims 3.
  • I don't think it is necessary. They are already higher than young adult voices and will become progressively deeper as they age. It is quite realistic as it is. People don't sound a whole lot different after they grow up. It would break the immersion if they did in-game. In my humble opinion.

So you saw nothing wrong with the video I posted?
  • I play a sim that I normally keep as a teen. I aged him up to YA last night and his voice definitely changed. It was lower and I'm having a hard time getting used to it. So there is a noticeable difference but I don't know if that's the case for all the voice styles. It was for him though. I was thinking about changing the pitch to make a bit higher because it doesn't sound like him to me now!

That's... not unrealistic? My youngest son has had a deeper voice than his father and older brother since he was 13 or 14.

Love when people project aspects of their personal life as if it’s the standard for the entire world, or at least The Sims World. Congrats. This is a video game and the reason teens aren’t visibly/audibly unique from YA is because of cutting corners - not what’s realistic or not.
  • For me, They can barely even add new animations in the game because of the "budget" so I don't think Voice Acting will even be expanded
