I can't say I'm a purist. It's not that I don't use mods because I want to preserve the sanctity of the game as is.
Mods and CC are too much hassle - the game updates often enough that taking them out and adding them back in sounds exhausting. Also, I play on a Macbook that has enough issues running the game without me adding more stuff to it.
I haven't felt like I desperately needed mods to fix the game nor do I feel like there's stuff missing so I don't have those reasons for getting mods. And I'm lucky enough I guess that I don't have the packs that I've heard are the buggiest (and the ones I do have I've not seen that many bugs, definitely no game-breaking ones). There's CC I've been tempted by but again, space issues and too much hassle.
