My sims go to restaurants at least once a sim week. Love the dinner dates, it's a great way for sims to fall in love.
I have Get Together, and I have a club where their main activity is going out to eat (they're called the "Upper Crusts" lol) and you can select restaurants as a club destination.
I love how you can customize the menus, a simmer on the gallery even built a vegetarian restaurant for those Vegetarian Sims. I haven't owned a restaurant yet, but it is something I plan on doing in the future.
Also, all of the recipes it comes with! I get tired of sims cooking the same food. I also love San Myshuno for this reason.
