A pollution mechanic that affects all worlds would be interesting, there are however so few things in the sims that affects pollution, if everything you do in the sims would add or reduce pollution, then maybe.
I just don't get what causes the pollution in the first place. Throwing trash on the ground does not cause the air to go bad. In fact, throwing the trash in the bin causes it, because it goes to a factory that burns them. Recycling does reduce pollution but it is on such a small scale in the trailer. That small amount of trash that you are recycling would not reduce the pollution in the world a bit, I assume that comes from industries, changing community lots would have no effect.
It does because it gets washed in drains which can hurt fish and other wildlife we eat and with the water cycle we breath it in. More about the effects here: https://www.epa.gov/trash-free-waters/impacts-mismanaged-trash
Well they have to throw a huge amount of trash on the ground for the entire air to go that bad... But who knows, maybe that is what is happening. I wonder if the decisions you will make for the city will include other possible ways they are affecting the environment. I guess you could implement those decisions to affect the other worlds somehow like with seasons.
With farming, they burn the fields too. Cows also pollute the air with farts which is kind of funny in a way. With the covid honestly throwing trash on the ground spreads viruses too. But yes I would love to effect all the worlds. Would help people be more socially aware of their environments around them.
I agree about the toggle thing for pollution. Nice having it for fame and extreme weather as mentioned by other Simmers.
