They solved quite a few complaints I had about the worlds in the Sims 4.
Many of the landmarks don't do much, but at least they provide lore. And it's okay if they don't have gameplay, since the Baleful Bog, the well, multiple swimming spots, crypts (which are rabbit holes, but still), multiple ghost NPCS, Alice's quest system, and the tarot card quest system. If you lived in this world, you'd have a lot to do.
Aside from Whispering Glen, the neighborhoods are small - in a good way. Like there's a lot of places to roam around, but otherwise, things are in close vicinity of each other, so you don't have to spend hours walking across the map to see everything. And it's easy to get around without getting lost because of all the unique landmarks.
After years of worlds largely being set dressing you can't interact with, it's refreshing to have a world where you can actually engage with things. My biggest complaints are the amount of lots (I still think 15-17 should be the average) and the festivals being worse than ever. But other than that, Ravenwood is such a good world. If it had more lots to work with, I'd have moved most of my gameplay here.
