Okay... That explains why it didn't work with my active sim's sister, but with the sister's roommate that she just met that day. Thanks for the info!

Ha ha! Mine was clearly in a bad mood, too, which I found very amusing, even though she didn't vandalise my sim's home in any way.

There are specific interactions that qualify for a good deed and will have the event icon next to it. I completed the challenge and the only things I had were to tell a joke or funny story (can't remember exactly which one) and brighten day (which only showed up when I was lvl 2 in Charisma)

Yeah, I've since discovered that telling a funny story also counts as a good deed, but it's still weird how few options we have there. 90% of all available social interactions in this game are positive, yet we can only use, like, 2% of those to contribute to the Positivity Challenge? :| Strange. And as for being helpful, well, in real life I would be much more grateful if someone cleaned my house rather than just taking the trash out, but I recently noticed that some of those weirdos actually enjoy cleaning, so... whatever.
