Omg, I swear I was screaming blue murder at my sims kids tonight. Baby was crying so I had mum go see to him. Action canceled, a kid was heading over to the baby so I canceled their action and sent my mum over there again only for it be canceled yet again! Another kid was going to see to it....canceled that one and tried to get mum to see to baby...nope the first child had again headed over to the baby. That's how it went for what seemed like an eternity.Baby screaming, kids not wanting to leave it alone and mum couldn't get near it.I thought for sure the baby was going to get taken away.I don't think I've ever threatened a sim child in all my time playing the sims but tonight, I sure made up for it, they're lucky they made it to adulthood!

I've had this happen with party guests too, but the result was much more extreme. My computer was (unbeknownst to me) on its last legs. When the same guest kept going to "help" with the baby and interrupting my Sim's attempts to do it, I eventually lost my tempter and shift click > reset them.Cue a horrific screeching sound as my graphics card imploded and the baby's cry echoed through the speakers like some sort of warped monster, and then the whole machine just shut off. Took three months of of salvaging/saving money to buy new parts/faffing around with various recovery methods to get back to a working state. I know logically that Sim at the party wasn't to blame, but he should have left the baby alone!!

It drives me nuts when this happens! Cancelling actions, unfortunately, aren't enough to stop this behavior. I usually send the Sims across the house to do some other activity, (play with dollhouse, practice an instrument, take a bath, etc) and this keeps them occupied while my intended Sim can tend to the baby in peace. It usually works for me.I do like the idea of locking the door, though. Then you don't have to worry about it.

I usually give sim something else to do. My sim dog is a pain. He constantly queues up "petting" interactions on sims.

Yeah when I play a big family with Toddlers and babies it's a mess

Ahh good plan! I was wondering what to do if I had mom, grandma, and great grandma all fighting over who gets to play with the infant. Thx!

Sorry for laughing OP - but your original post cracked me up. Thank you for sharing - even if it frustrated you. I did enjoy the bedlam - but for your sake I do hope your household behaviors improve.

Lol, it made for an interesting night for sure. It was chaos lol. I am guessing it wont get better, I'm doing the 100 baby challenge and my house is always full of kids :# I might invest in some cages...

You are brave! I too think it won't improve - but it absolutely should be interesting.

That is one challenge I NEVER do. But enjoy - should have some great stories to tell.
