puppies

Can my dog get pregnant on her own? I try and try to breed with other dogs but never works. I want my dog to have puppies. I let her out by herself can it happen? How do I tell if it does?

  • I don't know, I hadn't tried that yet myself, so I am curious how pets can have kittens or puppies. Right now I just have one male cat.

you can encourage them to mate but it never works because the animals don't like each other.
  • Yup. If they run away they can come back pregnant.

I font know of any other way for them to get pregnant on their own
  • They can. A while back in my game one of my cats ran off and came back pregnant by Mayor whiskers (?) Without my sim intervening and despite her initially mate being in the home with her (they already had a litter together). She did have the trait associated with pets wandering off the lot (someone fill in the blank because my mind just went blank in what trait it is lol). Either way I knew this because the kitten looked nothing like the mom or her mate who were the same breed. The kitten looked like that Mayor cat lol

ETA I assume the same can happen with dogs too lol

    is it the independent trait?

For cats it's the free spirit trait (had to look it up lol) and the equivalent for dogs would be the adventurous trait I believe. But I'm wondering about the independent trait because that says they can take themselves for a walk so I'm not too sure.

My dog is independent and I let him out all the time by herself. She came back with flaming hearts in the thought bubble so I guess have to wait.

If she has hearts it means she's in heat. So if she keeps leaving I think there might be a chance that she could get pregnant. I didn't even know my cat was pregnant until she had the kitten lol. The game announced she was having the kitten and I'm was like wait what? When? Lol so it was news to me. Better believe I got her fixed after that lol

I had no clue what the hearts meant. Thank You!
  • maybe if you let her out when the hearts are happening she's more likely to come back pregnant? I believe the thought bubble with the heart on fire is a reference to woohoo as my sims get that after a good time (if you know what I mean)
