Q&A: Horse Ranch

#AD

I was invited to join the CFE (Not Final Build build) and Early Access (Final Build) opportunities for Horse Ranch. Thank you to the EA Creator Network for this chance to show you ALL THE THINGS!

I will be taking and answering questions about gameplay, showing off Horses, Mini Goats & Sheep, Nectar Making, Lore and screenshotting anything else you guys want to see.

The embargo has already lifted at time of posting, but I'll not have access to my PC for half an hour or so, so no pictures straight away (I'll answer in words and add supporting pics when I get home). I'll break answers down into spoilers in case you just want to know some things and keep the rest a mystery.

Format will be similar to last time where I have links to each subject and add more info to each based on questions asked and as I discover things through gameplay. If you didn't see it the first time you look, check on the subject post again later.

Index to follow. Let me know if there's something I forgot.

Ask away!

  • In the trailer for horse ranch ep, they show the sim on the horse while practicing on the barrels and the bars for jump. I haven't had that option in game yet. Anyone know if it's unlocked if more advanced or if it's in game at all?

    Has anyone attempted having horses in a household that lives in Moonwood Mill?

    @miklc

    I am thinking of adding a new household to the world with a horse and I am wondering how practical it would actually be... (I haven't really explored the Horse Ranch EP at all yet)

    I havent yet, but I have tried in Brindleton Bay and Windenburg and willow's creek. All which are too small in comparison to Chestnut Ridge for riding around, but you can still do it.

    Moonwood Mill is all one piece of land all connected so it's much better fot its path. I have ride bike there and its a circle path to see everything and a really nice ride so I imagine perfect. Also more vast than other worlds. I think they dsigned it that was do the werewolves can run in their rampages- which I think is good for horses- Maybe they already had this horse ranch pack in mind. you can also ride you horse around in all worlds to see first.

    Thanks for responding @LeucosiaX - that's a really good point about Moonwood Mill essentially being one open neighbourhood and you're right they designed it to work with werewolves rampaging around so hopefully this means it will work well for horses also. When I get around to adding the new household I will give it a go and see how it works :)

    I'd love to see photos. That may be the next world, now that you mention it I try to establish a horse @miklc

    Apologies for the late response, I've been offline for the past few days.

    I've been heavily invested in my werewolves lately, but just created my new household (they've just rescued a horse) and began to get them setup in Moonwood Mill. Only done minimal horseplay testing thus far but so far so good :)

    It's a great world to ride your horse around. I managed to ride around to every lot including Greg's trailer! My horse even took the opportunity to pee in front of his house! I'm going to set up my next horse in this world. Very sceneic and the dirty road and vast open space make it perfect for having a horse

    Great screenshots @LeucosiaX - there really is a lot of detail to Moonwood Mill when you take the time to enjoy it :)

    Clawdeen was gifted a foul from her son, who bred two horses in Chestnut Ridge. I think the designed Moonwood Mill with horse in mine, because the big house, has a small house in the back that easily converts to a barn. The grade change is subtle enough for horses- issue I am having with horses on older lots.

  • I can not pull up interactions with sheep and goats to clean and bottle feed them. Ranch hand is not doing it. WHat can I do?
  • if you sell a foul on the exchange , another family buy that exact foul?

    Does anybody happen to know what happens to your horses and other animals if your sim goes on vacation?

    @manicobsessive
    I just tried it with a baby foal left at home, and it's considered a pet, and the game automatically calls a petsitter!
