Question about Halloween

I made Spooky Day holiday with Spooky Spirit, Trick and Treat, Wear Costumes and Decorate. One of those did bring my played ghosts wandering around the neighborhood in the evening/night. At one point there was at least five of them just walking around the neighborhood. They didn't come to the house, but just wandered the usual walkby routes.

Talking to Vlad and his vampire family didn't seem to count for Spooky Spirit, though, which is weird. The most surefire way of getting Spooky Spirit done for me was carving pumpkins.

Trick and Treat seemed to be very time specific, around 6pm and some. My played sims were visiting Vlad at the time and there was one teenager and one child in costumes and Trick-and-Treater tags on them, but when I returned to the home lot in Willow Creek, didn't see more of them the whole holiday.

I don't think spooky spirit generates ghosts. I had a spring holiday with remembrance, trick or treating, egg hunt, thankful spirit and gardening. One of those traditions triggered the ghosts. I guess it was remembrance.

Remembrance triggers ghosts but so does Spooky Spirit. The difference is that with Spooky Spirit you'll see ghosts at night, while with Remembrance you'll also see them during the day.

Thanks for clarifying it. I've now set remembrance as a winterfest tradition, so sims can reunite with those they lost. Ghost spawning during the day sounds just perfect.

@paradiseplanet Checked lot traits in my game and "Haunted" is not a base game lot trait, it's only available if you have the City Living EP. Just thought I should update to let you know. Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Simming! :)

So I lucked out on this one. My male sim got abducted before I created the Halloween holiday so everyone in the family interacted with my child alien and got the spooky spirit tradition done. If not for that, I wouldn't have succeeded as I did not see a single ghost, vampire or alien (besides him).

You don’t need to interact with ghosts to fulfill it though. You can listen to spooky music and carve pumpkins
