I do indeed know Sims players IRL.
One of my very closest friends and I have both played Sims games over the years infact we've often played the same console games as we've grown up together.
Sadly my friend had to give it all up after learning she had Functional Neurological Disorder a few years ago. So she likes me to send her pictures from my game. I taught her daughter how to play it though and some of her young friends play it too.
We did have a small disaster when my friend bought her daughter a new Xbox without realising her packs were on PlayStation. So we found a sale and scrambled to replace them between about 3 of us. It was chaos with her mother, her uncle and me trying to do it without her knowing as it was a surprise and we wanted them loaded up ready to play too. We couldn't remember what packs she had before either. Like I said... chaos. 🤣
When the base game went free it started popping up in conversation with neighbours and with my friends kids and a few of them had started downloading it. The tweens next door to me love it and always have questions when I see them. I gave my old Xbox Series S to them (it was like a family member so it was a whole emotional rehoming thing lol). The youngest is severely autistic and highly sensory and it's so joyous to see him find something he loves and he gets so animated talking about it. 🥹
But in a group of about 8 or more Xboxing households I do get the eyerolls from some of the lads! If I have to hear once more that one downloaded it and deleted it immediately without getting past the opening titles....! I keep telling them they'd like the occults but they are having none of it. But I don't get them either with their headsets on and games like COD or DBD (shivers, ugh).
So I suppose it's each to their own. 🫤
- @simsplayer818 Thank you 🥰
It is sad that your friend had to give up simming due to Functional Neurological Disorder @simsplayer818 It is lovely that by you sending her photos of pictures from your game she can still enjoy parts of The Sims, and can also enjoy seeing her daughter playing it and chatting to her about the game.
It would have been a surprise when you found that the daughter’s games were on PlayStation and it was a new Xbox that was her gift! It was good that there was a Sims sale to buy the new packs!
It is lovely that your neighbour who is autistic and highly sensory is finding enjoyment through the game. Simming is very helpful in many ways.
