Re: Do Your Sims Regularly Visit Other Worlds?

@ChampandGirlie wrote:

I use all available worlds in the game for my gameplay. There are a few that I have not fully explored yet but they are all utilized.

In my game, sims can travel anywhere but I do tend to send them to certain places based on where they live. I also use Newcrest as a central location mainly for community lots that anyone can visit. I send sims on vacation to any world with a vacation rental and would love to see hotels. When sims travel in my game, they will go to any locations in that world. For certain places like the Copperdale carnival, any sim can go to the nearby park and use the carnival. Anyone can go to Sulani, to Tartosa, skiing in Mt. Komorebi or on a jungle adventure but they need to fly and so they need to go for 3-5 days at a time. That means that they need to have enough vacation leave or time but anyone can have a vacation. I also have some holidays in the calendar and I've recently started having a few days in the summer that are just summer holidays for easy traveling or recreation.

For visiting restaurants, sims can go almost anywhere but for worlds that are "far away", they might need to stay a few days in order to visit those community lots.

@ChampandGirlie I like your method of determining where and when your Sims travel. I may have to borrow your idea of using one world as a central locator.

I now have 6 vacation rental worlds only 🙂  All have lots of community venues, sort of tourist locations in my game 🙂

If I ever get Tomarang, it will be for vacations only too.

@simgirl1010 Thanks a lot. It is a good way to have fun spaces that you can customize. I like having a lot of activities like a bowling alley with a cinema, a cafe, a spa, several types of restaurants, an ice rink, a lounge and other venues such as a family park. Groups can go out and then stay out. Maybe they start out by skating and then go to a cafe or they go to a restaurant after bowling. It is easy to think of where to go for a fun day out.

Since we added more worlds, I do also use some of those newer places like the carnival, skiing trips and recently the Tomarang night market.

It is great that you have vacation rental worlds where your sims can enjoy spending vacations @Ellupelluellu 🙂 They would be very nice worlds where your sims can enjoy visiting when wanting  to have a break, relax, go on adventure or  enjoy a holiday or enjoy visiting the community lots to do various  activities or go shopping.

  • In all those years it had been only the second time we visited Selvadorada but it was so worth it 🐊
We had so much fun and the world is so pretty.
They Boys, the horses, the goats and Rubyn went on a clue hunt expedition through the Jungle.

My sims travel whenever I feel like it. I have all these places in my game so I want to make use of it. Some players have huge rotational saves but I only play a few families. I would never see most of the game if they all stayed in their home world.

I used to have a list to keep track of which worlds are close to which ones but that became too complex and started to limit my game. Now I just try to go by feeling for worlds that feel like they could be close. For example someone from oasis spring will be more likely to buy groceries in chestnut ridge (also an American desert) while someone in windenburg would rather go to henford on bagley (green European environment) .

The pictures of your time in Selvadorada are very beautiful! @LennyOgg 🙂 The waterfalls and scenery are pretty and very peaceful and restful. The colour of the skies in the fourth picture is very lovely. It is a very nice photo of the boys exploring the world on their horses. The last photo of the sims and the goats sleep is very sweet!  🙂

It is great that you have your sims visit other worlds that they would feel are similar to their home world @atreya33 🙂

Oasis Springs is similar to Chestnut Ridge and Windenberg and Henford go well together. It is good for sims to travel to areas that reflect their home environment.

  • We visited San Sequoia only once ^^'

The Boys don't like it o.o

    Jeb's face! 😅

    Okok! We're leaving! Omg!

Noxee and Greg's faces on the lawn chairs! If looks could kill o.o'

(I don't know why they look so earnest when they sit on these chairs. The same with the sofa lounge chairs or the float loungers. You usually use them at fun places like the pool or the beach. They could at least smile a bit. Their faces when they ride horses are equally earnest 🐴)

At least Saiwa and Jack have fun with the water sprinklers :3

As you said, Noxee and Greg do have earnest looks on their faces in your photo as they are sitting on the lawn chairs  @LennyOgg They seem to be thinking deeply about something.

I love to have my Sims visit other worlds. I play with many different households in many different worlds, but none of them are restricted so I'll take them anywhere, depending on what I feel like doing or what I think they would want to do. I do have a few households that I play a little more than the others, and they tend to experience a little more of the varieties of gameplay from different packs, but I can't really say I put any restrictions on any of my Sims as far as traveling.

I do love the world-switching design of Sims 4 and being able to utilize any and all worlds in some way or another. It helps change up the ambience and allows for spontaneous adventures, which I love playing. I also sometimes only have a very few of a certain lot type, so changing worlds makes it easier for me to make use of the majority of lot spaces for more of my Sims while allowing them to go visit whatever community lot they need to. I kind of see it as just traveling to the next town for whatever they need/want to do...unless they are vacationing in a rental, in which case I see it as them traveling much farther away.
