If we compare our Sims game to real life. In real life we have many different grills, all of Our Sims 4 grills look different and match different decor. The couches in Sims 4 do not look alike at all they match different decor and are inclusive of the pack they come with. That way the Sims 4 furniture can match different styles from all over the world. Also the same is true for our dining tables, dining chairs, and any other furniture in the Sims 4. Its all kinds of furniture just like when you shop real life.
In the older games there was CAST, pretty much taking care of this problem as well. A color wheel is something they should really reconsider putting in the next game. Because then we can make our own recolors again ;)

About recycling animations, Define Animation...animation
a dynamic visual medium produced from static drawings, models, or objects posed in a series of incremental movements that are then rapidly sequenced to give the illusion of lifelike motion. the process of preparing such animation, as for films, cartoons, video games, etc.
So the reason for animation in the Sims games is to mimic real life. What if you as a person could not repeat any animations you did just the day before but must come up with new ones. so instead of you sleeping, you must find a new way to sleep.
That's just not at all what this is about ... Animation budgets are expensive, sure, but putting in new objects that use recycled base game animations is just lazy. It doesn't matter how you sleep in real life, sleeping & woohooing in a coffin has to be a different experience from sleeping in the bed (which it is). Similarly, I like the archaeology table & excavating but there's just no denying how similar these animations are to those of school projects, the woodworking table or digging. New animations keep the game fresh & if they're gonna put in less content, they may actually put in more new animations. Like it would've been nice if our sim walked alongside the dog when doing agility, not just waving their arms around in ways that also look surprisingly much like older animations.

In Sims 4 we are not stuck to one pattern or one color or texture.
Yes, we are stuck to predefined patterns. If we had CAST, we wouldn't be.

Also compared to a teen pointing to a game for a parent to buy costing 59$ and 69$ Sims games are the best way to go. when do you get to buy something for 10$ and make your teen happy? it's unheard of, also the same for yourself.
Its games that sell you money daily, in 50 dollars 75 dollars real money buys, you spend that fast on clothing and now you need another 50$ buy for more clothes, also sell you the songs for your parties or friends to hear. but we just get our music outfits free. also, its games and worlds that you pay rent like hundreds of dollars a month. We have free homes or motherlode and our gallery is free.So to me, the Sims games are the best way to go.
This argument is so flawed, I don't even know why I'm responding to it but:
a) The sims does not and never will cost anyone just 10. Parents will have already bought the base game which is 60. Then it's plus 10 for one SP, true, bringing you to a total expense of 70. I own Planet Coaster + 3 expansions, totalling (because I bought it in Beta) = +-60. The Sims + 3 expansions costs me anywhere between 90 (BG + 3 x SPs, the cheapest option) and 180 (BG + 3 x EPS, the most expensive option). So, clearly, parents can offer their kids entertainment value for far less then the sims series has ever or will ever cost. So, no, what you're saying is not "just the truth". It makes no sense.
b) There are many amazing games that cost max. 10, 15, or 20 & offer hours and hours and hours of entertainment value. It is not unheard of. At all. Unless you only play EA games maybe.
ETA: honestly, I like TS4, but you're not doing yourself or any simmer or the devs any favour by never considering any of the game's flaws or pointing out things that could've been implemented better. There is always room for improvement, no matter what game, product, or company we're talking about. And if people didn't voice their concerns, didn't discuss ways to implement new features or draw upon their strengths, and didn't mention that they feel a bit iffy about seeing the same 30 animations over & over again, then the products we buy would never improve at all, or at an insanely slow rate. It's honestly weird to me to apparently not be able to say "I love this game, but x, y & z are areas that could be better". You're not hurting the devs by saying that, you're giving them the tools to make better games in the future (at Maxis or whatever other company they end up working for in the future). If they care about their careers, and they probably do, I'm sure they welcome constructive criticism & will do their best to work it into their products. They will of course not thank you for trashing everything they do, no, that is the other end of the extreme (and it's equally strange to me).
ETA: sorry I was wrong about the base game price but the argument still stands that this game (completed) is still among some of the most expensive series out there
