I agree with the animation recycle thinggies, the lack of new animations is serious. Sims spend a lot of time talking and I am tired of my sims waving their hands the same ways over and over, even when the topics are different. So I feel we should call them out when we see it, not comparing them to TS3 and other games, because it could only get worse with The Sims 5 (remember we only got toddlers because we were very vocal about that).
With our talented cc creators, we got enough recolors going around, plus brand new 3D meshes of hair, clothing, shoes, accessories, furnitures and tons of makeups, tatoos etc we do not need EA to spend their expensive time on that (everyone should google and follow at least one cc site, sims4update, lana cc finds, thesimsresource etc, you will see what I'm talking about).
For example, I remember when we asked about Pets not being controllable, they told us that pets would be more realistic that way and they prefer to spend more time on the Vet career (which is even more disappointing than the Doctor career). If you ever played a Doctor, the collapsed patients would stand up right away and walk to the surgery table after the Doctor whispers in their ears. There is not even a special walk or helping hands, a gurney or a wheelchair should have been an obvious choice, but no, *reality* is the first priority. We need to count animations first in each pack, not another tshirt or rug as new assets.
I have to comment on this one too. That I don't need cc to make my sims presentable is a huge, HUGE.. selling point for me. I just got a virus warning two days ago and the only new place I'd been was to look at some cc. It verified why I don't want it all over again. I don't want to browse for it. I don't want the different looking icons being part of my sims CAS. I don't want it breaking and having to shift though it to find out what did that. I don't want bald sims when I take it out or stretchy heads in the game. When Sims 4 is all done.. I will consider adding what I want and don't have through CC. Maybe I'll have learned how to do it myself by then.
I want the stuff and clothing and options to come directly from this game.... so no I don't have to goggle or follow anything. I did if for prior games and that's how I spent most of my game-play time. All night searches for that perfect so and so. Then go in game and play for 15 mins before going off to search again. Nope I don't need to play that way anymore.
I'm also happy with the animations and the time frame in which they are being added in. The animations for this game are more fluid than before.. they take into account the sims body size and weight, multi-tasking and often emotion. I'm more interested in getting animations that are done well added in to make sense even if that means it seems like it's less than before. I say seems because I don't think we are getting less work because of all the factors that have to be taken into consider to produce these animations and make them work.
