My question is: Are we allowed to place rental properties. If not, can we do it through cheats or a mod?Island Living is very nice, and brings a lot of new content. My only problem is, Island Living is nice and has a good concept, but it’s still an island pack, and I can’t vacation there. Comment down below if you can answer my question or tell me what you think about this! Should rental properties be open for placement? Should the sims team add at least one rental property before releasing the game?

Technically rental and residential are not two different lot types. The game just recognizes a lot as a rental lot when the world itself is a vacation world. A mod that lets you to have both residential and rental lots in the same world would require major changes to the game so I doubt that exists.

Personally I don't use mods but other simmers have had good results with that one which i'm sure they'll update when the new EP comes out. For now when I get Island Living I'll probably just turn one of the lots into a generic one and have my sim family stay there as a vacation interest.

I’ll probably do the same. Mods are too much work for me.

We shouldn't need a mod though. Such a lack of creativity, how easy could it be to make a house a "Rental" and allow Sims to buy rental vacation homes.

I agree. They should have just put at least on rental in. Living there is great and all, plus it gives you more of an experience, but in the end it’s still a tropical location. It’s ideal for vacationing so I don’t know. Maybe sometime they will patch in the ability to make rental lots or a hotel/resort pack in the near future.

It is a shame we have to rely so heavily on modders for basic features like being able to change a lot type to rental especially when the lot type exists.

I agree. The sims team needs to start stepping up to certain things.

While I do agree we should have a rental lot type that we can live in any world but I do like it isn't a Vacation world as not everyone lives in the same place and it gives us more things to do.

I think it would have been nice to have at least one rental lot in Sulani. I'll make a generic lot and use it as a rental.

I agree. The pack is Island Living, and the experience is about living there. I only want a rental lot so if I’m back in windenburg or del sol valley. I do have the option to vacation there. I don’t want to uproot my sims so they can vacation there.

Same here. It’s still an island pack, and islands are great for vacation. Once I live there for awhile, and bore it out. I don’t want to fully uproot every time for a week vacation.
