huh? how did that happen? i have never seen this happen in my games before. or are you talking about those npc's (usually random generated creepazoids in my case) that just rush a flirty greeting in and force a romance bar with you before you can get rid of them? hate it when that happens but i was never forced into a date before, and i Always reject the get famous blind date opportunity because yeah, chance is it will be someone i am not willing to even let my sims meet let along date.
I'm not talking about npc's, though that does happen as well. I'm talking about other played sims. For instance there about 150 other sims in my world that are rarely played but are living in the world. Then there are some sims I've been playing for years and are maxed out in all skills and traits. Basically, they are the shining stars. And those are the ones those empty headed other sims target for matchmaking.
It's not something you'd see unless you've paid very close attention to your sims social habits and understand how they communicate with each other. Especially due to the fact that it's not something that's communicated to the player. But once you get it, it's glaringly obvious.
I can't find the article but a few years ago one of EA's producers explained in an interview how the friendship system works in the sims 4. Basically there is a network of friends that develops in the game and becomes like an impregnable fortress. Through that network they matchmake, gossip, etc. They become sort of the law of the land in that world. Maybe someone would have better luck at tracking down the article that talks about it than I did.
