I’m a very controlling player, meaning that I like to instruct my sims, guide them, tell their story. But at the same time I also love being guided by the game. Led in directions I never planned or even thought of. I think it’s that interaction that I miss in Sims 4. I think Sims 2 did that even better by the way but I’m not familiar enough with that iteration to tell. Sims 3 is running through my veins ;)
I'm the same. The earlier games guide you sometimes depending on your actions. (Not in a hand hold type way) Sometimes it seems random. (Like my Sim who wanted to romance Mrs Crumplebottom - that wish was all her) When I play the sims 4, it seeks to guide me by being the equivalent of breathing down your neck and at many times I feel I have to fight against the game to go in the direction I want to go. I don't have that with the sims 1-3. I'm in the driving seat in those games. The sims 4 is a backseat driver.
