Replacing a studio

I have been trying to replace a studio from a gallery. I used the cheat, free build mode to place the building. I had to do this after my sim has finished acting as it wouldn’t let me edit it or I couldn’t get a sim to do hair or makeup etc. Once I’ve finished work, I change the studio and I leave the premises, it goes back to normal when my sim arrives the next day. Does anybody have any idea how I can prevent this from happening please?
