Riding as a Group

I'm pretty disappointed that this isn't an option and I've tried many different ways to make it happen. But it won't. My last ditch effort was to form a group, have my couple mount their horses and walk next to one another. I paused the game and made sure their queue was clear and selected take a relaxing ride. And I thought...this is it! They can summit together, have a picnic, and then ride home together. Nope...because as soon as they got to a fork in the road, they went on different trails. :(

Now I know I can click go here, but they gallop there and it's not relaxing. Plus I don't know what bonuses you get from riding three options. Anyone else trying to have group riding? How are you making it work?

Here's me thinking...oh it's working!

I didn't use play together. I just sent them to play on the Splash Pad, individually.

But do they socialize when they are playing in it? I think that's the crux of why it would be preferable to "play together" rather than just playing and not interacting with your friends and family. Kind of like the way fishing used to be. They would fish standing next to one another, but never talk. Then they updated it at some point.
  • I don't recall if they actually played together. I was able to have them sing together because it was a holiday. But, I think, since the Splash pad was on the small side, they just collected together and did their own thing.

As for conversation while fishing, that's a bad idea to a serious fisherman. It scares the fish away. LOL

There's so few activities the sims can do together (especially children) without having to pretend that it would be nice if children could play together in the splashpad is all I mean.
  • I definitely think we could use more "do things together" options.
I mean we have come a long way in that regard but I hope to see more!

I've kinda managed to have my sims ride together by using the "Trot here" option on each mounted sim, usually with slightly delayed timing so they don't clip into each other. That way they do usually choose the same path.
I had my lone traveler Logan and his daughter Alta ride together to go swimming (it was a very short swim since I forgot it was winter ?)

I've discovered that watching my sims ride together is one of my favorite things about the pack, so it's sad that there is no real mechanic to see that happen. I still hope it may be added with a patch later on, because it would be sooooo good!

  • I would love if the team would incorporate more group commands in general. I often use the "chat here" or "go here together" option to get a group of Sims where I want, but even that doesn't always work. I'd love a "ride here together" choice where you could just keep clicking that and the group of riders would head to that location together, thus following the same path.
