Do we know anything at all about how palace staff is organized? To me it looks like a new career, at least there must be a new way to hire staff. Or did the trailer just make it look like the maid was nearly a member of the household?
I didn't find this being debated yet, any thoughts?
I have been wondering about this as well. Is the maid in the reveal trailer a new type of npc or service sim or is this pure storytelling with a regular maid npc? Personally I think Royal households just hire regular service npcs. I think this was movie magic to tell the story. But that's just a guess on my part.
Let's hope the gameplay trailer can let us know. It would be interesting if Royal households get a staff with servants. I recently watched downtown Abbey again. The idea of the noble family and the servants offers some nice storylines. It would be nice if this would be possible with the new pack. I hope the sims team surprises us and adds this to the game.
I think they hire the same staff as everyone else, maid, butler, gardener, caterer, etc. Would be nice if we could set their outfits/uniforms.
As someone who loves fantasy and historical inspired stories, I would love to set uniforms for sims.
Would be nice if we at least could hire a live-in Housekeeper. Similar to the Butlers from the vintage pack. But well, I too suspect what we saw in the trailer was a set up for that video.
Current butlers can take care of the whole castle on their own ;p I tired to make servants clubs for my posh sims, but one butler still beast them ;p Keep that in mind next time you tip your butler =)
Plus, I hate to say it ;p but this kind of service will probably end up very glitchy so its prolly best they dont add that ;p
Indeed they can. I have a rental lot that is an actual haunted castle and whoever rents it also gets a butler. That's the only place his uniform fits in in my game. 😁😂

I noticed this too. I’m hoping it’ll be a new career or something akin to Butler’s (they just need a bed and not added to the household) but with a different spin on it. If it is, I wonder if you can have multiple servants working instead of just one?
Haven't heard anything yet, but I'm sure we'll know a little more when the gameplay trailer releases tomorrow.
My hope is that we can actually assign household members to different titles and positions. I'd really like to be able to play both sides but have some autonomous behavior according to the Sim's position.
I really hope that we FINALLY get proper playable servants in the game. I sort of made a servant with my Lurch in my Adams Family. & 2 servants in my Queen Eleanor household. I make sure the servants have the cleaning trait in CAS.
