i keep getting the robot dock from the present pile which i kept trying to programme the first time but then realised i got ripped off, so my question is do you later get the robot so it actually work...

No, you’d have to actually buy the robot vacuum from the thing after you place it in your house. It’s kind of annoying, I got it from Father Winter more than once.
