Rotational players - how do you play?

I play somewhat systematically but not with a rigid schedule. In each save I only rotate two families but play others on occasion. I roughly play them 3-4 days, but sometimes it's more and sometimes it's less. To date I've stuck to game order rotations, though am tempted to skip around. So many goals and with all my saves it's still a big event when they reach a goal I've set them.
