I mostly just keep a journal to let me know where I am with each household and what my future intentions with that household are, and a master list of characters so that I know where they are in life and who their relatives and ancestors are at a glance.
I’ve thought about trying a spreadsheet but I don’t know. The journal and character list have always worked for me so I just keep it simple.
