Just the idea of placing a huuuge treehouse in a garden, requires a bigger lot even for a smaller home.
Definitely. The mighty oak tree only has a 2x2 footprint but the canopy is 10x10. I think the hawthorn tree is 4x4 but the top is roughly 12 tiles on one axis and 18 on the other. Those are the kinds of trees we'll need for treehouses which is going to need at least a 40x30 if you want to have any kind of decent size home and not have the tree limbs clipping through walls and windows.
As a builder I do wonder if we're going to get a new tree type and maybe some other additions in the shrub and flower categories?

Only 12 lots ? That’s not much. I mean usually almost all the lots are already filled and you have to move the premade families out so you can place your own sims, because there’s not enough lots.
Also I hope the lots are big enough to build family homes this time and not mainly tiny 20 x15 lots like in High School years.
More 30x20 lots would be greatly appreciated. That is the perfect size for a residential lot.
I actually wish we had more of the 20x15 lots. I think most of the lots are too big. But I want tons of them!

Thing is we can build a small home on a big lot and fill the rest with some plants. But we obviously can't build big on small lots. 20x30 is a nice size for a family home, but I prefer 30x40. I hope we can get some variety in lot sizes in the new world
My sims are usually single or married couples without kids so the small lots would seem ideal. The problem is small cramped rooms drive me crazy, and I love to decorate, so I make my rooms bigger than most builders. I am trying to do a build in one save on a 20x20 lot and make a two bed/two bath home with an office, a large kitchen/dining area and large-ish living room, big enough for small get togethers. I'm not sure I can pull it off, but if I can it would change my opinion on the smaller lots. Personally from a builders perspective the 30x20 and 40x30 lots are far more versatile and that's what I love most about them.
