Maybe it's that holidays are worldwide (say you've got xmas as a holiday; if it's worldwide then non-active households also have that holiday on their calendar too) and events are household-specific?

Events could be a one-time thing like a wedding or a dinner party, specific to that one household.

I don’t believe so. He repeated the same answer twice now on Twitter. Does seem a bit random, though.

This is why I haven't planned out all my holidays. I need to be sure about the length of the seasons first.

Good call. I've planned (most of) them, and I know roughly when they'll be, but I'm not making them until I've played through one whole season and am satisfied with its length.

I need to see what holidays we have first before I plan too much in advance. I'm thinking of a Parents Day where the family does activities together, followed up by a nice romantic dinner out for just the parents. YA Sims can visit their elder parents if they're still around, maybe take them out to dinner as well. (Sort of a combination of Mother's and Father's Day.)

Oooooh, this calendar looks great and really appears that the whole feature is more in-depth/fleshed out than many perceived it to be early on. I'm extremely excited to have this feature in game. I think this is going to be the EP that starts the ball rolling for adding some substance to the sims 4 series. Don't get me wrong, we do have cats and dogs true, but I'm feeling like Seasons is going to be a game changer so to speak, and many other great things will be built upon this. Just my opinion, and I sure hope I prove myself right. Anywho, Seasons can't get here soon enough (even though I still have soooo much prep work left) :)

Here's my plan:

Spring
- Walpurgisnacht: eggs and bonfires welcome, combining the vernal equinox and the restarting of life within nature with other elements, such as the influence of pancake day; sims have a traditional meal of pancakes. Bob's presence is optional.

- Love day: like Valentine's, but without the emphasis on romantic love - a day to celebrate all types of love, with whoever sims love, and in whatever way they love them - think a combination of Valentine's crossed with a celebration of family and friends.

Summer
- SimNation day: celebrating the founding of sim nation. However long ago it was and however it happened, it happened on this day. A day for sims to celebrate being sims.

- Midsummer BBQ: marking the longest and hottest day of the year with BBQing and inviting people round. Basically a celebration of the summer solstice combined with an Australian influence of BBQing food.

Autumn
- Equinox harvest: a combination of the autumn equinox and harvestfest.

- Hallowe'en: falling exactly opposite Walpurgisnacht in the calendar, so as to represent the balance within nature of live and death, Hallowe'en marks the death of somethings in nature, combined with the concepts of day of the dead and spooky day. Hallowe'en parties will be happening!

Winter
- Midwinter/Christmas: basically, it's Christmas, combined with the winter solstice

- New year: the main objective is to count down to midnight, probably at a party. Got too complicated trying to decide whether new year's eve and new year's day should both be holidays so there's just the one new year holiday.

Each season can be 1, 2, or 4 weeks long.
