The only benefit to pre ordering is that you have the money already set to the side. A lot of times you can download it early I think? Not play but download.
Im not sure
I pre-ordered Get Together and City Living, and at my credit card the price was when it was launched
If you live out of USA and with devaluation, you will notice it. In fact I pre-ordered those packs speculating to save money (ordering before than USD become higher), but still my credit card was charged when pack was released (with USD higher)
That was my experience as well. They've never taken money from me for an EP until the time it gets released. So it's not even a way to set aside the cash or something like that. It's literally just pointless :(- marjia7 years agoRising Aceif they don't take the money till it releases then paying in advance may backfire in a month when you forget you spent the money.
- AquaGamer12127 years agoSeasoned AceThat has happened to me. I think it was get together. Bought it, they took the money out and without my knowledge they put the money back in my account. The day come to download and i wasnt able to because i unknowingly spent that money already. Since then i just wait until that day to buy it.
- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceI do wish it would at least take the money right away if you pre-ordered. I know if I got a slight discount I'd be pre-ordering immediately but I just don't see the point this far out. I doubt I'd pre-order just to be able to play a couple hours earlier.
- Hang on. Please help me out as I'm a bit lost. I've pre-ordered before now and found no real benefit other than not having to buy it on the day. They let me know when they take the money out and I have never noticed anything go wrong. What is this about interest?
- EA Stopped doing Limited editions after sims 3
- Loanet7 years agoSeasoned AceI have nothing against offering pre-orders in itself but I do think it's kind of... well... silly, okay. What's the point? You don't get it any sooner, you don't get anything extra, you don't get anything cheaper, etc etc. No reviews.
- marjia7 years agoRising AceI think I'll wait so I know how much money's in the bank when i buy it.

You can still get the preorder stuff Zeldaboy just google because I will get in trouble linking the site."Marjia;c-16490031" wrote:
Wow, and they earn interest on money they collect now, why would I want to do that? Seems like Pre-order should offer an incentive.
Thanks, Guess I'll hold on to my money till they release it.
They used to and people got angrily, rightfully so. I started sims 3 in the middle of showtime, I had missed out on all of those pre order bonuses that I could never get.
Pre order incentives are the plague of the gaming community when they offer exclusive items. - SimplyJen7 years agoSeasoned AceI usually pre-order to avoid server traffic if I know I'm going to purchase anyways. In the past, Origin has let pre-orders download a day or so before to avoid server traffic. Download - Install two different things... So you can't Install/play early but you may be able to Download early avoiding server traffic. *shrug* Totally up to the buyer. EA will make money either way.
