I feel like there are some things they could have done to make it seem like it had depth, without actually having the snow layer up. Having little snow piles clump up against walls, foundations or outdoor objects would have added a visual illusion of depth. Having footprints under your sim’s feet ... also pretty important (I guess we don’t know if footprints are absent or not yet). Also, the roofs look too flat and unrealistic. I’m not sure if that could have been improved or not.
I’m still definitely looking forward to Seasons in the game and I’m pleased it’s finally going to have different weather! But I’m certainly disappointed with the flat snow.
I think there are footprints, we can see some in the picture of the tweet linked by the OP.
It does look pretty weird though as the sims' shoes visibly don't sink in the snow.
That’s good! But yeah, the shoes don’t sink into the snow which just blows the whole immersion thing for me :(
