I believe they are since the "prize winner" contacted them and helped the original account holder get his/her account back. I'd say with adding in 2-factor authorization they've done as much as they can do; if account owners do due diligence (yes, I know not everyone wants to change their password) that will help. I'm just happy that the "prize winner" isn't out any serious money; maybe the thief wanted to see if s/he could get away with the scam before s/he tried the next step of selling the accounts.

I believe they've been made aware on other social media platforms (such as twitter. Maybe reddit, as well, not 100% on that).
The original post was on Reddit and I know that a few of the Gurus keep tabs on Sims chat over there.
