It definitely happens in other worlds as well. I constantly have random sims basically moving into my homes uninvited with no option to ask them to leave. I feel like this has become a major issue since the patches with university. These sims act like they are roommates without actually being roommates. The only solution seems to be keeping doors locked for everyone but household members.

If you aren’t able to get a sim to leave your house just travel with them to another lot and then go home without them. It’s a pain but it works.
