Self-Employed Makes My Sim Home An Open House

I made my sim self-employed. I then started to notice that random sims are just coming in my house univited! I would have my sims out doing something around the island. I would then go to her home to select whatever for her to do at home and there would be a stranger in the house on the computer. I would then direct my sim to ask said sim to leave! They don't walk out the front door they just disappear as if they were out in the town and you direct them to go home, they would walk a distance and disappear.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or is that what's suppose to happen when self-employed?

I had to lock the front door but that creates other issues when family or friends come over. Sometimes I don't see them and even when I do, I'll unlock door to try to invite in or invite to hang out at current lot and the option does not show in the pie menu.
