I have noticed that I don't really make use of male pregnancies, which I assume is due to some need for realism that I have. Also, my Sim homes tend to look pretty down to Earth. I prefer that my Sims eat a varied diet, but far from always what has the fewest calories. In real life nothing tends to be perfect for a prolonged period of time. Also, there is no glamour in my played Sims' life, as that is not a part of my own reality.
