Since I'm afraid I might run out of time again if I don't post this now, but I do always SO enjoy looking at your builds in these threads, here it is, as for previous EPs (and one I'm extremely excited about): the Cottage Living build thread!
Let me start off by saying that I am SO HYPED for this pack. Almost feels like Seasons to me. I can't wait to buy llamas, cows and chickens, live on a laaarge farm with my cats and dogs, in the beautiful countryside. I can't wait for GROCERIES. Yes, groceries. I am a boring simmer. I LOVE not being able to cook anything unless I have some ingredients. It's gonna be so lit!
Now, I know the EP hasn't been released yet but there are already plenty of cottages online, and hey: we wouldn't be simmers if we hadn't been mentally preparing for this pack for weeks (some even for years lol). So feel free to drop your cottages below, even before the pack releses. I'd love to see them <3
I've done 4 so far. Considering I'm american and not too familiar with cottage building, I decided to build from reference. I'm really proud because I almost never put this much detail into my lots. I modeled these off of homes that I found for sale in the Cotswolds. Absolutely love that they include the floor plans in the listing.

I gotta say I'm having a blast. I don't know about you guys, but my sims are acting a lot more natural now and doing things they've never done before. For example, in one of the houses, the kitchen and dining room have a table and I didn't think the dining room would ever get used. But when the kid comes home from school, he goes to do his homework in the dining room and then if other sims are eating, instead of eating at the kitchen table, they join him in the dining room. And I've noticed that my families want to do things together more than before. I don't know if it's specifically cottage living items that are causing it or if that's just the game now. But I've had a sim go and autonomously start helping a different sim who was already cooking. Also had sims go help garden when others are doing it and feed the barn animals together, too. I'm totally loving this now.
Here is another of mine. It sits on 2 Olde Mill Lane and is modeled after this home that's currently for sale: https://search.savills.com/property-detail/gbtzrsswg200136
I built a cottage-style 4 bedroom home on a 40x50 lot and added a barn for storage and activities i.e. woodworking table. Plan to add fizzy making and arrangement table as my sims make money. I added a pond, fenced in area with 2 sheds and a coop, and a garden area with bees and of course Patchy. I have been playing whenever I can (rl has been busy lately) and I am really enjoying it! I don't have a pic as I don't know yet how to put one in, but I did put it in the gallery. The name of the lot is Willoughy's Farm and my id is MaggieMae7276.
