Sharing is caring is canceled!!!

Didn't know what was going on. I thought my game was glitching out. I'm playing builds as I build them to make sure it all flows right and things kept disappearing. Not taking one or two items. I would have figured one of the dormmates was klepto, but no whole rooms would disappear. All that was left in the mess hall was the cafeteria bar. They even took the debug items!!!

Stuck NAP behaviors are the killers for me. I thought I had control of the NAPs until I noticed some of the NAP behavior became stuck on Sims and nothing would reset it. Abandoned quite a few saves because of that.

@Kerrigan @alyssasim87 Are you on consoles or on PC/Mac? I linked my mod earlier which can clear stuck NAp behaviour off sims and fix your saves. There's also one by Basemental which is made to only clear stuck NAPs and nothing more, for people who just want to fix their saves and then delete the mod after.

There's also the patch on Tuesday, but it's not known if it will contain any fixes.

Thank you so much! Have two sims playing instruments all the time. Looking forward to fixing it.

I will definitely try out that fix. I've already moved past those saves and done all the heavy lifting getting characters back in the direction I like them to be, but since I have some bad saves, it'd be nice to know it can be fixed if it happens again. I'll get ya'll some feedback when I run the fix.
  • Yeah, this "sharing is caring" is nothing but sims coming into another sims home and stealing and I'm am certainly NOT a fan of it. It didn't occur to me that this was the issue until I noticed when updating homes that stuff kept disappearing only to realize that some random sim comes into an active household and starts taking things. How is this a good idea? It's a good thing I can cheat money and replace items, which I shouldn't have to do but here we are. I feel confident that this "feature/bug" won't be fixed anytime soon.
  • I refuse to buy Eco Living until they fix (or remove) N.A.P's entirely, too much of a hassle and a headache for the game right now.
  • Nobody that playtested this for more than 5 minutes would think Sharing and Caring at it's current form is a good idea.
But then they seem to have stopped bug testing after the release of Get Together...

I disabled NPC voting, set all neighborhoods to Self Sufficiency only, and installed Simvasion’s mod. Sharing is Caring really has been cancelled! :)

Do tell how you set the neighborhood to a certain N.A.P?

Just have your sim vote at the weekend when it tells you voting is open. It only adds your sims vote. No other votes from NPC's will be added and keep voting turned off in settings.

I think other sims do vote because my sims did vote but lost.
  • I always make sure I shoot this one down because I figured it would just be bad, never had it as a NAP yet. I like the idea of the NAPs but like why someone thought this was a good idea I don't know. It should be like one item and on residential lots, not steal everything from everywhere immediately.
  • It looks like there is a work around, at least. I am always changing my mind about getting this pack. I think the idea of pollution would work in some worlds in my game but i dont want to actually play to achieve that lol. I just want to assign it to a world and make it stick but idk if you can do that because i read it changes so i just changed my mind again about getting this one.
