Sharks?

Has anyone seen one? If so where? I have taken my Sim scuba diving multiple times around dusk and still haven’t seen one.

She screamed out loud, and then turned around and swam back to shore.

the dolphins like to hang out around buoys, though they're not always at any of them (and once a sim is 'liked' by one, they can summon them by clicking the water near a buoy. once they're on friendly terms, should be able to summon by clicking water anywhere)

sharks like deeper water than what's around the snorkeling buoys, but it doesn't have to be much deeper than those. and ladykyn had a good explanation for it... keep the sim in the water, sharks aren't an instantaneous thing and can sometimes take quite a few hours before being seen. it was about 2 hours into her swim that my now-dead sim saw her first shark(s) and then a good 6-7 hours after that for the next one that was a precursor to the kraken that drowned her

WAIT! There's a kraken? (Edit to add) Oh, a notification and a black mass. Got it! Ok, I was missing the kraken from another game.
  • I still havent actually seen a shark although once I saw one of my sims had the fins moodlet, but she was already on shore when I noticed it. I havent been actively trying to get eaten though.

If you see the moodlet but no shark it means your graphics settings aren't high enough. The sharks can only be seen with object details on high. I had that problem, and I have reported it in the help centre. It's noted and will hopefully get fixed.

I'm on Ultra, just was playing a few sims and missed it.

That's good to know, thank you
  • Hey it's now Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. I have yet to see a shark but I haven't been in the right place. One fast way to get out to the deep water is the jet ski.
