I haven't had issues with Lovestruck, but I use control settings in Options and MCCC. In the game's Options, I turn off Neighborhood Stories and use MCCC settings instead. I also turn off Wants & Fears as well as Friendship & Romance auto Requests & Breakups. MCCC also has settings for Friendship & Romance Decay Rate and Difficulty that help too.
In CAS, I don't use Turn-Offs and Turn-Ons for my own Sims. I also change the one setting for guiding romance reactions about getting jealous for non-physical flirting to No. The others I leave on Yes.
I've enjoyed the rest of Lovestruck's gameplay, world, and BB-CAS. My sims don't do a lot of task-driven dating, so can't say much about that.
