I agree. I mean they had so many choices when it came to something like this. And honestly, ancestors are a big part of most Asian cultures (including Japanese), so I would have preferred an Ancestor shrine, something like this

Where sims could leave offerings, put up portraits of passed sims, ask for advice and perhaps meditate/pray at the shrine.
Im not sure if they've 100% removed it, or kept it in but just removed the animation (so now we pretty much have a useless object...) im NOT ok with that, it needs to be replaced as its removing the gameplay in the pack & compensation should be given for that. Which is why I think it should be re-meshed & made into something else entirely.
