@lmkiture Thank you sooo very much for making this easy for me to understand, esp w/the photos. I think you are awesome in being so helpful. And I've bookmarked this post page to refer to until I get the complete hang of it. Also, @ejoslin I have been playing the Sims since 2008, but I never uploaded any of my creations prior to Sims 4, because I didn't know how & didn't care. I only went to the exchange to download mods to use in game in Sims 2, but they didn't work right (babies having tree branches for arms/naked Sims, etc), so I stopped doing that. I asked a couple questions in the Sims 2 forum, but never could figure out how to find the responses. Anyway, thank you for sharing your opinion, it helps me feel a little better that I'm not alone with regards to the issue of uploading. And I see a bunch of Sims in the S4 gallery that look alike. I wish I could share to the gallery with confidence that I wasn't going to be involved in politics. BTW, I did find some info on Carl's guide regarding the gallery, and there was no mention as to rules of sharing modified downloads to the gallery. In fact, it mentioned using the Randomize from Gallery option in CAS mode, to make changes to suit individual tastes/preferences. Well, forget that! I guess I will spend a few days creating my Sims from scratch and saving to my library, and not download anyone else's creations again. Happy New Year!! And Happy Simming!!! Hugs
You welcome and happy new year! I wouldn't let it stop you from using others sims. So long as you don't put them on the gallery it's fine.

I always upload something I want to use again and I don't give it a thought. Why do I upload? Heh, it's not like I'm a popular creator or anything, so it's not to share creations. I like cloud storage. It's just that simple. And since I am constantly downloading and bulldozing, I probably have some stuff up that I created that someone else is getting credit for. /shrug.
And this is the problem. I used the Sims 3 exchange the same way, and I always cringed when people downloaded my stuff because that's not why it's there. I wish there was a way we could use the gallery as cloud storage without sharing the creations we have uploaded.
Just out of curiosity, why does it bother you if people download or favorite your uploads? I too use the gallery mainly for storage, but I do like it if others like my stuff too.
