Sim who is "Staying out of the Spotlight" nominated for award

Question

I have a sim who is staying out of the spotlight (He doesn't understand why his husband LOOOOOVES the spotlight.) This Sim recently wrote a bestseller, and has been nominated for an award. His husband is an actor and has already won multiple awards.

That said...

This sim has NO fame points. Deliberately chose to stay out of the spotlight. Is there a way he can go accept his award at the lounge or will he be rejected by the bouncer? Would he be let in if I grouped him with his famous husband?

According to Get Famous discoveries discussion, all sims should be allowed in during the award ceremony. If not, I guess you can use extra doors to have your sim get in and remove it once the ceremony is over.
What I have also read is that if sim is in the same group as the famous sim, the bouncer should let them in. Sims can also ask the bouncer to let the whole group they're in in.
