Going pixar is not a guarantee it won’t age. And apart from that, aging can turn into vintage and people love that. They even create games using that concept.
Going Pixar just means giving into mainstream appeal. A lot of old 3D animation looks horribly uncanny and creepy by today's standards. And tbh I hope we will never get bobblehead Sims for a main game ( TS mobile already has them sadly enough and TS4 can be dangerously close at times ). I get that they follow the basic attraction/cuteness principle of a downward turned triangle with big eyes, small nose and small mouth but eh, it's so boring to look at and doesn't really stand out/support the game's visual narrative.
Don't expect EA/the Sims team to ever go into any remotely interesting direction art style wise though. Of course Cuphead's rubber hose animation look would be too stylized for a Sims game but even stuff like J.C. Leyendecker's art is too unsafe for them. They will continue to make the game as pop culture heavy and mass appealing as possible so unless a certain style strongly comes back into the public eye it's not gonna happen. Also the team consists of a lot of....*cough* "progressive" *cough* people so they'd probably deem older art styles too racist or sexist or just too problematic because they lack context and knowledge about them/don't have the necessary abilities to adapt them into a modern setting.
