Sims 4 cheats aren't all working!

I won't lie and say I never use cheats in Sims 4. I do. Sometimes I cheat for more money quickly or to fill motives/needs. And I don't know what happened to Sims 4 while I couldn't play it. But I've tried to the cheats after doing the testingcheats on, yet the fill needs isn't working anymore! It used to work perfectly, so I could keep my sims on track without needs being too much of worry. Yet now I can't out in that cheat to fill up their needs anymore!

Why is that? Why did it take that away from me? The motherlode cheat still works, that's great. But I need the cheat to fill up their needs to work again. I've tried it several times, but I enter it and the needs don't change at all! And I REALLY need the filling needs cheat to work cause I have two sim toddlers! One is angelic, and the other is fussy. And their needs run down so quickly I can't keep them both happy.

Yes, in other discussions I said I had a couple, a woman and a man, but they aren't enough to care for the 2 toddlers cause the toddlers' needs go down so quickly. The dad works as an upcoming painter, and the mom works as a part time babysitter. So he is often left for work and she is mainly home. But with both the needs draining so quickly and over laying each other. It's so difficult to keep the needs well cared for.

I have the vanilla basic game, no expansions or any modding. I only use cheats to benefit me when I really need them. And for the filling the needs of my sims is REALLY a need I need to have back in the game. I guess some updates to the game had changed somethings. But PLEASE developers make it so filling the motives cheat works again. Or any simmers out there, please, inform me to get that darn cheat to work again if possible. I was asking this cause my poor toddlers were so needy I was scared that I would lose them. Cause of that "-name- will be taken away." notification I got sometimes cause a need got too low. But I managed to get through their toddlerhood yesterday. So they are kids now, I'm sure they'll be a bit easier now. And good news, my couple is gonna have another, cause I can't resist making them have kids XD The mom wants a big family soooooo, I guess I made an excuse to make a big family by giving the mom that trait. The repair option worked :smiley: Now, going through all my sims needs will be easier! And MORE good news :smiley: I got twins! It was so random that the 3rd time they got pregnant with twins! And the genetics mixed! So the girl twin got brown hair (dad's) with blue eyes (mom's) and her twin bro got blonde hair (mom's) and green eyes (dad's)! AHH I'm loving it so much! I was so shocked to get twins! No pregnancy cheating either, the game decided to let me have twins in the 3rd pregnancy :smiley: Lol, but now there'll be more pressure do to it being a fuller house. 4 kids in total, the two girl, boy that are kids, and the new twins, and of course the fabulous couple that made them! So 6 sims in one house! CRAZY!

I’m having cheat problems, too. I couldn't use the sim id cheat to fix a relationship where the game won’t let me assign her a mother or father.

Have you tried typing 'testingcheats true' instead? I've read here on the forums that 'on' doesn't work for some but 'true' does. I don't know if it will work or not but it's worth a shot.

Also, if it's the toddlers' attention, that cheat is fillmotive motive_toddler_attention. All others should be the same as older sims.

Edit: I just went into the game to check, and mine are working.

On Origin there are options if you right click on the Sims 4 icon. One of them is repair. When you click on that Origin checks all your packs and does repairs to the game if it needs to. The process is pretty quick for me but I have great internet access. Repairing cannot be done from the game you have to do it from Origin.

Thank you, I didn't know of that feature until you commented it. I'm repairing it now. I hope it'll work :smile: Your answer seems promising so I hope that it's a repair it needs to get back to the way I loved it more :smiley:

I haven't tried the 'testingcheats true' cause 'testingcheats on' still works for me. I can see how it can be picky and with 'on' vs 'true'. It would be worth a shot. Though someone else commented about "repairing" my game from Origin. And I already started that so... XD But if repair didn't work out, then I'll try giving 'true' a shot :smile:

Ahh, so it's fillmotive motive_(sim)_(motive). Darn, I guess perhaps the cheat list I was reading off of didn't update how to enter them so maybe I've been entering the fillmotive cheat wrong the whole time :/ That's awkward if I've been accidentally entering them wrong and saying I've been entering them correctly.

I was terrified yesterday about my sim toddlers cause I didn't want them to get too low and be taken away. That what was scaring me to make this post in the first place! But I managed to get through their toddlerhood, and now both are kids! YAY :smiley: But then again, I can't resist having my sims having kids! XDD So I made the mom and dad have another and yes, indeed the mom is pregnant again xD So I'll be in luck if one of these ways commented works out for me so I can build a great family without the fear that the kids would be taken cause their needs drain so badly.

Yeah when I made this post it was a long time ago or at least feels like it was. And I completely forgot about testing cheats on to active them since it was so long since I've played. Lol. Thanks :3

could someone help me figure out how to get the sim id cheat to work? ive tried EVERYTHING and yes my cheats are on

Did you write it like this:
sims.get_sim_id_by_name (first name) (last name)
