Sims 4 Expansions

I am wondering which expansions you thought were worth it, and which ones disappointed you? Of course we all know Seasons will be worth it, but what about the others we have seen?

  • I got them all on sale, but the only one I'd go back and pay full price for was Get Together - it was the one I was least excited about and the one that ended up being my favorite, oddly enough. I love the club system, the world, and all of the new activities.

The other ones aren't bad - I quite like the scientist career for Get to Work (though I'm not a huge fan of active careers in general) as well as the aliens, and the festivals in City Living are great for building skills more quickly. Cats and Dogs is probably the one I've utilized the least (but only because my computer was stolen right after I got it and I haven't played as much since I've gotten my new computer). The Pets expansion has never really been my favorite expansion though - so that may be part of it. The vet career is fun, though.

With Sims 4 the packs are an hit and miss and most of them are gimped in some shape or form. Some of the packs have improvements which I would expect being they were created after Sims 3 pack, at the same time I still see Imho they do not exceed Sims 3 or Sims 2 packs level of gameplay. Some of them are under par and bring nothing to the table. I would have not brought CL because it is gimped where I can't built apts that I want and then you have the static layouts which you can't even alter it to fit your style.

You can alter the interior layout though, just not the exterior walls. But you can change the walls inside if I'm not mistaken :)

Not good enough for me but if it works for someone else have fun with it, it is still gimped and will always be. However, glad I still have Sims 2 and 3 installed so I can play the features that is missing from Sims 4.
  • I enjoy GTW, I like the build/buy and ability to run a store and the active careers were fun but it did get boring. GT has to be favorite pack by far, had a lot of nice CAS clothing and the world is simply beautiful. I love when sims call to invite me sim out to the bar and when sometimes I’m invited to join a club. CL IMO wasn’t fully worth the hype of the apartments. They felt too restricting and the basketball court was disappointing. I did enjoy the new careers in that though especially the live-streaming one. C&D I only recently got and I don’t think I fully played it get a good grasp on it. I do enjoy so far playing with my German Shepherd, though he ran away but the option to have a parent console their child after they ask if he’s ever coming back is just so sweet.
If I had to uninstall and reinstall the only I probably wouldn’t reinstall is CL. In the end however it does come down to player preference, I’ve seen many players in the past vouch for CL and against GT, so there are many opinions out there.
