Sims 4 on a new laptop

Hi all, I'm getting my new laptop soon and I just wanted to know if any of the items on my old computer will come through on the new computer through Origin? Or when I log in to Origin I'll just have all my packs and that's it?

  • Your saves, since they are saved on the computer itself, won’t transfer. You can attempt to make a copy of the save file on your old computer and send it to the new one. : )
  • TY!
I kind of like the idea of a new everything. I don't think I'm particularly attached to any of my Sims, or if I do I'll upload them to the gallery.

Move your save file for old games, mod file for all of your old mods and CC, and tray for any characters you've created and want to transfer if you don't want to move the whole Game file.
  • Ever since Sims 2, it's been a tradition for me to have a single game save live on a single computer, like the sims actually live in the box along with all the electronic doodads that run the machine.

But for everything else, there's thumb drives.

Make sure you remember what folder you got your saves from as you will have to put it in the same place on the new computer. You can delete or rename the Sim 4 folder on the destination folder under Electronic Arts and then copy the Sims 4 folder you just copied from your old computer to the same folder "Electronic Arts" folder on the new computer, there are other ways of doing it, I just posted one way of doing it. :) I suggest copying the the whole folder "Sims 4" under Electronic Arts and not just the "Save folders".
