When I see how the people was angry in 2014 when TS4 was released without Toddler, I think this time Maxis will take more time to develop The Sims 5.
1 EP per year is more time to make the EPs and maybe it's also a trick to buy time for The Sims 5 development.
There is no gain to end The Sims 4 now.
People were angry because EA was shipping out a game that spent the vast majority of its dev time as an online social/multiplayer title that was then scrapped and reworked into what we got and pawned off as a huge necessary upgrade even though it did and still does less than it’s predecessor The Sims 3.
