The thing is that EA can and likely will adopt something similar. After all, they did exactly that with Origin when it compared unfavorably to Valve's Steam service."OEII1001;c-16349659" wrote:"Phuxion;c-16349644" wrote:Nothing is a guarantee. The Old Republic would beg to differ.

My reference to the Old Republic is that it's not a guarantee. In other words just because a game has lootboxes doesn't mean it's automatically going to "quadruple profits, or more."
I also used TOR as an example because it's an EA property. An EA property mind you with the Star Wars name. One that's had lootboxes for years now yet it was Battlefront 2 that ended up being the thing that finally got people all fired up about lootboxes.
Going back and forth on what games lootboxes are a success for or aren't ultimately doesn't go anywhere as there are both numerous examples of successes and failures with lootboxes.
True, but at the same time you can/could point to more examples of games where it didn't work than the ones that did because there will always be more failures than successes.
"Hey loot boxes did great for Overwatch."
"Awesome, but here's a hundred examples of games where lootboxes didn't work."I look forward to reading your list of 100 games where lootboxes didn't work.
