Sims autonomously skipping school/work?

I'm not sure if this is a known issue but recently my sims have been constantly autonomously skipping school or work for absolutely no reason. I send them to school or work like normal and then straight away I get this pop up

Regardless of which option I click they still skip, and there's no button anywhere to send them back to school so they just end up at home the entire day and their grades are constantly dropping because of it. It seems to be totally random as well, sometimes they go fine but other times they keep coming home. Has anyone else experienced this/knows a solution to stop it happening? Are any mods known to cause this?

    I haven't experienced that myself but I think it's caused by being Terrified or possibly just Scared. I would suggest trying to remove whatever is scaring your Sims, build up other emotions so that Scared isn't the dominant mood, or take vacation/sick day when your Sims are scared.

    Sadly that's basically unavoidable in a haunted house, they're scared most days. Getting rid of the problem objects out the front of the house helps sometimes but they're still constantly cancelling to perform their terrified animation :s

    I had this same problem when I played but it was before the scared trait was even a thing. I got the message and the kids just stood by the mailbox all day regardless of which option I picked. I just had them do extra credit/projects to keep their grades up

    I have had some similar problems prior to the scared emotion. More so with the acting career. If I am not traveling with my Sim, it will flat out refuse to go. Even auditions it will sometimes autonomously cancel and there is nothing you can do to send them in my experience.

    I've had this as well. One of my Sims left for work then she immediately came home and I couldn't send her back.

    It's been a while since this happened to me. A couple of years ago one of my sims had decided to reduce his working hours on his own will and came back after 2-4 hours of work, no matter if I told them to work hard. He was already at the peak of the business career, where he didn't have to go to work every day, so he didn't get paid much on these days.

    It’s happening in my game but only when the my sims are terrified. I posted about it a few days ago in the packs forums but nobody replied so I assumed it was just me. I’m glad to see it’s not just be having this issue.

    A similar thing happened to my Sim. He went to work and immediately I got the notification asking if he should skip work. I answered no but he came home anyway. I thought it was just my fault, that I clicked the wrong thing.
    Why even ask to skip or not if the answer doesn't matter?

    I'm having this issue repeatedly in various forms. It started with a haunted lot and all members of a family. I am now playing on a university housing lot with a single sim. She is "skipping" almost every other class... certainly not helping her performance in uni!

    I do use many mods and I was assuming it is related to one. I haven't pinpointed the problem child yet... if it is even a mod issue... but Slice of Life is looking suspect. :#
