I really hate to be the one to bump this thread up... I see so much about Businesses and Hobbies that I absolutely love, but there is one thing that really, really rubs me the wrong way.
Heists.
I love heist movies. I adore Leverage and Leverage Redemption. The timing, the planning, the adaptations when things inevitably go wrong. These are like a beautiful, wonderful symphony to me.
Now, would I expect a fully interactive heist from the Sims 4? No. even though I just got one in Dreamlight Valley, the Sims 4 autonomy just would make interactive heists a buggy nightmare. But I would expect something like the missions in Journey to Batuu or the gate chance cards in Selvadorada. A decision (or series of decisions) to be made, maybe better luck if you've got the right equipment in your inventory or a certain skill besides mischief at a certain level. Stuff like that.
Not a rabbit hole with nothing to do but wait. I don't mind the rabbit hole part. I just mind that I have yet to see one early access simmer have any more influence on the Heist than wait for aproxamately 5 minutes. If they couldn't give us the pop ups, then I wish they hadn't given us heists at all.
I thought the same until this pack was announced. I always thought get to work will be the last ep I buy but recently it has stood out to me and it will be the next one I buy because the new pack has really inspired me to build a grocery store in Henford-on-Bagley, and I either want to build it with B&H and make an area for Kim Goldbloom above it or use the GTW retail system but the items in GTW are really standing it out to me like the fire exit sign and soap and towel dispensers.

I thought the point of GtW had been the three active careers with retail on the side. 🤷♂️(I never played with the retail part of that pack unless you count a build edit or two.) B&H seems to have flipped that to small businesses being the main point with hobbies being on the side.

Yes and No.
Small Business lot is one single lot with multiple purposes similar to Community Lot in The Sims 2. For example, an area for clothing store, another one for nightclub and one other for gym.
It's not multiple sub-lots like Residential Rental lot from For Rent EP.

As I thought, from a visitor's point of view Business and Home are 2 lots

I seriously doubt it. They did not show anything of the sort in the trailer. They know that a lot of players would like that feature to make a mall for example. If they had put this in the game they would have highlighted it.
The gameplay trailer didn't really answer my questions like can we have multiple community lots on one lot without owning it

I feel it's unclear whether we'll be able to have multiple ownership of businesses on a single lot creating a mall. I know it's not possible to mix Dine Out restaurants and small business so that's already a downside to being able to create functional malls. Though it does seems like the sims will be able to own their own food stalls based on the trailer.

I was excited for the pack after the first trailer, but I feel the gameplay trailer showed us nothing new. So now I kinda feel like they're seelling GTW again with a bit of a twist. I like what is coming with the pack, it seems better than what GTW has... but then again what's the point of GTW anymore? To sell furniture and clothing? Just having a bit of iffy feelings and thinking I'll likely wait for a sale. I love setting up shops for my sims, so yeah I still want the new system.

I have kinda reached a point where I care more about larger updates to the game, bug fixes and real game development.
This gameplay trailer made the pack feel like just "content", a very monotone voice, another sims4 logo redesign, after 92 DLC everything feels very monotone and repeated over and over.
And in this pack sims can actually hold real classes, we had Discover University and High School Years but none of them had actually any real classes.
I understand that EA/Maxis can't make everything for a pack but really, this has been too many packs with not enough development in them. After 10 years I'm seeing what I wanted to see for some older packs.
So what? I'm expected to wait another 10 years until I can play in a real high school? This is why game developers make sequels.
Please see reason EA/Maxis and start working on the sims5.
