I did a game repair, but I decided not to take any more chances. Here is my solution to this problem. I've run 'Bob' through the room, the Bot passed in front of the fireplace but no more fires. I just had to elevate it a tad.

Interesting, and it also gives me an idea. If raising the fireplace eliminates the fire risk, then what would lowering it do? You know, like maybe carpet level? Only one way to find out
Before you find out the painful truth, I'll let you know what I've learned in the past regarding placing a fireplace in a sunken area. It cannot be done. I've had to create a platform in the room just to add the fireplace, which messes up the floor plan. I did see something odd the other day, after I elevated the above fireplace. 'Bob' was suddenly running on the lip before the fireplace! Thankfully, no fire resulted, but I have to tell you I held my breath. I'm thinking the truncated hearth saved the day, this time.
That’s an interesting oversight on the devs part. I never would have guessed that the bot vacuum passing in front of a lit fireplace would instantly set it on fire. I wonder if it’s always been that way or if a recent update broke it?
