I live in the San Joaquin valley in California..... where it can hit past 110 degree’s in the summer. And yes, once in a great while it snows here. The last time it snowed enough to cover the ground here was about 21 ago ( before my youngest started to school). It snowed so much that snow even covered the tree’s, and there was plenty of snow to build a snow man. we are warmer here than The Los Angeles area. So, it is very very, unusual, but it happens. The most beautiful and rare thing to see though is the Mojave desert covered in snow, I saw that as a child, and it lasted longer because it is considered a high desert (colder).
Our last day in Riverside, CA, it actually started snowing, too. Hadn't snowed there for about 22 years. At least where we were moving to, snow is the norm. :)
